BBP bag - mostly good
I had the medium version of this bag and found it too small for me - but this size is great! I use it as a backpack exclusively - -or carry it around by the handle. I wish that the interior had a couple of small pockets in the largest section - but other than that - its all good.
Perfect bag!
This is an excellent choice for anyone needing a bag to carry their laptop in. It’s very well designed with a sleeve in the compartment where the laptop goes and it has AMPLE room for books, etc…
Highly Recommended!
Bigger than I thought
My husband uses this for his lunch & laptop and loves it. It has so many pockets to keep him organized.
A GREAT ALTERNATIVE
I carry a Dell Vostro 1700, (so-so computer at best, great screen though) and because of the weight / size I was looking for a good carry solution. This bag is the one I picked after a little research. I never have been satisifed with laptop backpacks in general, and I wanted something more like a messenger bag.
Exterior access of laptop is very handy at the airport security point. The bag handles my laptop (barely) in the dedicated section.
No documentation: it will take a minute to figure out the right flip to convert the messenger strap to a backback strap. However, once done and on your back, the pak carries low against your backside and the weight is barely noticeable. Because of the low carry / low center of gravity, there is minimal affect on your posture while you carry it in that mode.
Overall I am very pleased with the bag. The nylon straps below the padded shoulder section seem a little flimsy, (7/8″) but are holding up fine so far.
Excellent Way to Tote a Large Notebook
Toting around a MacBook Pro 17″ , with and extra battery to boot, can really wear down your shoulders. The BBP is, what I consider, to be the most capable way to carry a laptop out there. The backpack setup is very comfortable and takes the strain out of places that get sore quickly, like your shoulders. I don’t think it looks that bad either The key point is that it works well and takes an innovative approach to an old problem.
The pockets are abundant, although the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I would like to see some larger, more accessible pockets from the outside. The only other item to note is that the magnetic snap on one of the outside pockets is not particularly strong (you don’t want strong magnets around computers anyway), so I would not put anything moderately heavy in there, such as a cell phone.
That said, the waterproof zipper on the outside for the laptop makes it a breeze to bring through airport security without having to unpack everything. The orange on the inside makes it really easy to see everything in the pockets. It will hold lots of stuff, in addition to your laptop and the materials it is made from doesn’t add much to the overall weight, like a leather bag does. I recommend the L or XL for the MacBook Pro 17″, I have the XL and it’s more than roomy adn well worth the money.
