Don’t waste your money
I bought this cleaner to steam clean my kitchen and dining room tiled floors. The tile has a sculptured top, not just flat tile. I was looking for something to help clean the grooves and lower areas of the tile. This did not help at all. I thought the steam and water would loosen the dirt and the pad would wipe it away. Didn’t work. The recessed parts of my tile are still dirty and I am returning this item.

Worst Experience in my life-Haan Steamer - UPDATE - UPDATE 2
Purchsing this product has been the worst experience in my life (my life of doing business online I mean). The first time I ordered it, from Go Vacuum, the delivery date came and went without a word from GoVacuum. I contacted Amazon.com, which bares no fault in this, and they also hadn’t received any word from GoVacuum about the product. I contacted GoVacuum on my own cancelled the order and was told by a customer service employee that if I couldn’t find the product locally, I could come back and receive a discount + a free upgrade shipping to 2 day air. In time I determined that I couldn’t find the Haan Steamer locally and went back and contacted GoVacuum to take them up on their offer. The individual that promised me the discount of $20 and the free upgrade to 2 day air basically called me a liar and said that he never quoted me the afore mentioned. So I cut off dealings with that individual and spoke with a manager who proceeded to take my order promising me nothing but free shipping. Well, I finally got the order today, 5-12-09, and low and behold the order was not complete, it was missing the short handle. Needless to say, by this time I was very frustrated. I called and another manager told me that he would get the short handle right out to me, he did as promised. Then I finally got around to using the product, and low and behold after getting it ready to use and turning it on waiting for the steaming process, it finally started producing steam, but when I lifted it up to try it on the bed (to get rid of dust mites), water from the device leaked EVERYWHERE. Well, that was the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak. I immediately returned it. You might want to think twice before ordering from GoVacuum/and or ordering the Haan Vacuum, as I could very easily have been burned very badly. Thank God I wasn’t. BUYER BEWARE!!!! UPDATE/EDIT: I’ve decided to give the product another try, in that there are lemons (so to speak) in all inventory. I will NOT however do business with Go Vacuum again, EVER. I hope my recent order of this product, which should be here on Monday 6-22-09, will be a better experience.UPDATE 2: Ok, I’m DONE messing with Haan products. I received my second one yesterday and it worked for about 1 1/2 mins before it started spewing out scalding water out the bottom. No more for me.

How Else Can I say It
I read the other reviews and was very surprised because my experience was exactly the opposite. It did not clean my ceramic floor or my wood floors. Yes, it took off things like coffee stains but I could do that with a wet rag. The wood floors were left with a film that was very dull and the ceramic tile floor grout was not any different. There was not enough steam coming out to really do anything. Very disappointed. It will most likely stay in the closet until our next garage sale…

Great mop
This worked great. made cleaning my kitchen floor (textured vinyl) so much easier. My only complaint was the length of the cord…wish it were longer….but the mop is great!

Breaking free from the mop and bucket!
I saw an infomercial for this product one night and thought I would give it a try. I was interested in this product for several reasons: 1) my entire home has wood and hard flooring, 2) I’d love not using additional chemicals and cleaners, 3) I’d love to not be using a mop and scummy bucket, and 4) the re-washable pad looked wonderful.

I got my mop this week and I am so happy with this product. It does what it claims to do. It heats up quickly, my floors dry quickly, and the pad washes well in the washer. The pad is extremely durable and well made. I put it in the washer with some detergent and it cleaned up pretty well.

The actual design of this mop far surpasses the chintzy design of the other popular steam mops available. I noticed right away that it’s very sturdy. The handle is telescopic and is easily adjustable.

I’ve used it on all my floors and small area rugs. It did a marvelous job and even lifted the dirt from my area rug. This is one of the best appliance purchases that I have made in awhile and I recommend it everyone.

Best whitener
Glister is the best toothpaste out so I think. I use to use aquafresh and crest but when I found this I have not looked back. I does everything it says and doesn’t leave your mouth tasting like toothpaste.

What is this? Why do you need it?
I bought a 16 channel DVR and a couple of speed domes along with some fixed IR night vision cameras after having such success at my commercial building with the same security equipment and installed them in my home.

Don’t get me wrong - this is wonderful. To date (1 year) these have been used in 3 police investigations of B&E, arson, and hit & run. They are a visable deterrent to crime in the neighborhood.

They also quickly become a visable mess inside. Every camera comes with a plug in “wall wart” or box type power supply. Multiply by 16 cameras and you see the issue - power strip city. It’s not a fire hazard because each camera uses about 7 watts, so 16 cameras use less power than my TV set does. BUT IT IS UGLY!

When you decide “The system is a keeper” you can buy this power supply box which allows you to power all of your 12 volt equipment from ONE supply instead of 16 (or more!). You’ll need to wire in your products and be sure to separate ground from positive (a fluke T5 is great here as an install aid) Fluke T5-1000USA,Electic Tester 1000V,Continuity,.

You also realize efficiency with ONE power supply, one plug, and all your cameras getting their power from it. It uses less power overall than the 16 wall warts plugged into power outlet strips, and it looks better.

A last note, if you have other 12 volt items like battery conditioners Maha Powerex MH-C9000 WizardOne Charger-Analyzer which use a 12 VDC supply, you can wire them into this singular supply and clean up their mess of wall warts as well. Just be sure the product needs 12 volts DC (often abbreviated 12VDC or 12 with two lines, one sold above or below one dashed line)

Overall this is the greener solution for the environment because each wall wart wastes some power. By removing all of your 12 VDC wall warts from security cameras, routers, dsl modems, battery chargers, calculators, etc and using a singular supply you realize an efficiency gain at the power meter, which means less wasted power overall, a lower electric bill, and fewer emissions from the power plant. It looks nice and professional too, plus it is something you can do yourself.

If you have ALOT of 12 VDC equipment, you will want to measure the actual amperage used to ensure you do not exceed the singular supply’s output. The fluke clamp-on meter model 337 measures DC and stores peak DC values - most clamp on devices can not measure DC so you end up having to buy a high end unit, but they are nice when troubleshooting car electric systems. The fluke 337 which amazon no longer sells is able to help you here. You might look at ebay for other clampon DC meters.

My system for attaching cords was to cut off the cable which came with my dsl modem power supply, battery charger, etc close to the wall wart, extend it if necessary, then run it into the distribution panel. For cameras it depended on the wire that fed the camera. Q-see and swann use female jacks to plug your wall wart into, and again cutting the original cable is easiest here. Otherwise you can cut the jack from the dc feedwire and attach an extension duplex wire to go into your panel. Unfortunately some of the q-see strainreliefs don’t allow you to peal apart the power from the video signal, however if you use their bulk spool cable you can do this easily and have the video only part go to your DVR while the power part heads for the power panel.

Believe it or not, This is easily a DIY project. Start by setting up the new 12 volt supply then migrate your loads over to it. You can work at your own pace because the wall warts you have will continue to operate.

12 volts is non-hazardous (about the same as your outside yard lights from malibu) and q-see has a safety cover over the high voltage section to prevent accidental contact. It is also well fused to prevent fires, something your wall warts lack quite often. Should you get stuck, my email is in my profile and I respond within a day.

It’s a well engineered product that is good for looks, good for the earth, and good for things other than just cameras!
